Trauma therapy
at Wayfinder.
What happened may still feel close. You don’t have to face its effects alone.
Practical, compassionate trauma therapy for teens, men, and families in Toronto and across Ontario.
When the past feels present
You’ve moved on in life. Your reactions may tell a different story.
Maybe you feel on edge, avoid reminders, or find it hard to trust people. Some experiences keep showing up in your sleep, relationships, or sense of safety.
Trauma therapy is a space to understand these responses, build ways to feel more grounded, and explore what moving forward can look like for you.
- “I feel on guard, even when I’m safe.”
- “I avoid things that bring it all back.”
- “It’s hard to feel close to people.”
- “Someone I love hasn’t seemed like themselves.”

Before you reach out
Questions about trauma therapy.
It’s okay to have questions.
We can talk them through.
Do I need a PTSD diagnosis?
No. You can reach out about the effects of distressing experiences without having a diagnosis. A consultation helps us understand your concerns and whether our care fits your needs.
Will I have to describe everything that happened?
You can begin with what is affecting you now. Your clinician will discuss the approach, what it involves, and your readiness before moving into difficult material.
Is EMDR an option?
EMDR may be considered depending on your needs, readiness, and clinician fit. Visit our EMDR therapy page for more information, or ask about the approach, fees, and availability during your consultation.
Is trauma therapy virtual?
Wayfinder offers virtual appointments in Toronto and across Ontario. We’ll discuss privacy, suitability, and the support you may need between appointments before beginning.
Can I use my insurance benefits?
Coverage depends on your plan and your clinician’s professional designation. Check with your insurer about coverage for a Registered Social Worker or Registered Psychotherapist before booking.
