Therapists who know men

Building the discipline to act

Therapy looks different for men.

Men need therapy language that resonates with them. Most come to therapy to overcome obstacles, regain control, and strengthen their minds. Those goals matter, and the way we talk about them matters too.

For men

Focus on what you can control.

Our clinicians have real experience working with men and know that lasting change comes from direct conversation, not vague reassurance.

A place to begin

You don't have to arrive fixed.

“I don't know what's wrong, but something is” is a completely workable starting point. Figuring out what you're actually dealing with is part of the job, not a prerequisite for booking.

What may be bringing you here

Issues unique to men.

Our therapists understand the pressures men face and the approaches required to treat them.

Substance use

The substance is rarely the real problem, it's the solution to a problem you haven't solved yet. We help you find what's underneath it and build a path to recovery that actually holds.

Men’s issues

Being a man comes with issues of identity, anger, purpose, and the weight of expectations you never agreed to. Most of it goes unspoken. We help you carry it differently.

Sex & pornography

These can become the easiest way to manage stress, loneliness, or shame, right up until they become their own problem. We help you rebuild intimacy with yourself and with others.

Relationships

Conflict, trust, communication, connection. The people closest to you will always test what you're made of. We help you show up better for your partner, your family, and yourself.

If someone else sent you

What to know.

You're the client. The work is yours.

A lot of men land here because someone else said they should. A partner, usually. Sometimes an employer, a doctor, or a court. Being told to come doesn’t mean it’s not yours. You come first, and we’ll keep your information safe.

Your conversations stay private.

We don't report to your partner or send progress notes to your employer without your consent. We explain confidentiality and its safety and legal limits at the start.

FAQ

Common questions.

Ask us a question
Do I have to quit drinking before I start?

No. If you're physically dependent, medically supervised withdrawal comes first and we'll help you arrange it. But for most men, cutting down or stopping is part of the work rather than a prerequisite. You don't have to have it under control to walk in.

Is video as good as in person?

For most of this work, yes. Some men find it easier to be honest when they're not in the room, and it removes the hassle of a commute.

Does this go on my medical record?

No. We're a private practice, not part of the hospital or OHIP system. Your file stays with us. We explain when information may be shared with your consent or where safety or legal obligations apply.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. You can book directly today!

What if my partner wants to know what we talked about?

That's your call to share, not ours. They won't hear it from us.

I tried therapy before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?

It might not be, and that's worth saying on the consultation call. Usually the problem was fit: the wrong approach, or a therapist who never pushed. Tell us what didn't work last time; it's genuinely useful information.
